Northwest Utility Contractors Association
Northwest Utility Contractors Association awarded the 2016 Associate of the Year award to Rick Day of Advantage Precast on June 3, 2016, at the annual convention in Sun River.
The NWUCA announcement reads:
Our chapter has established an award program to acknowledge the efforts of company members and individuals who serve as role models and provide outstanding leadership to our association. People in their line of work generally don’t do what they do to win awards. That said, we all know that it’s gratifying and affirming to be recognized for a job well done.
NWUCA devotes its energies and resources to three core competencies, each of which describes a fundamental aspect of who we are and what we do. They are legislative/regulatory advocacy, jobsite safety promotion and professional education. We are recognizing the impressive achievements of individuals and companies who excel at aiding NUCA in these goals. The scope and breadth of this volunteerism is not only inspiring, but also a source of great pride for our industry. We honor those members that have demonstrated exceptional leadership.
The Associate of the Year award is given to the associate, or the associate’s representative, that has also gone over and above for the industry in the past year. The 2016 award for Associate of the Year is given to Rick Day with Advantage Precast. Not only is Rick an active participant on NWUCA’s Board of Directors, he also co-chairs NWUCA’s Legislative and City of Salem Committees, and participates on NWUCA’s Budget & Investment and Scholarship & Education Committees.
Rick has been instrumental in moving forward plans for a Pipelayer/Confined Space training program at the NW College of Construction. The program will be the first of its kind in the country. The amount of time and energy he puts forth on behalf of NWUCA is appreciated and should be recognized. For these reasons, Rick Day earns our Associate of the Year award.
