API Spring Newsletter Blog

Here we go again! Gearing up for the busy season (hopefully). We’ve got a lot going on and want to let everyone know we are in this for the long haul.

First, we have whittled ourselves down to a lean precast machine. All of our work is now done exclusively at our Keizer plant, where we have been busy, busy, busy!

We’ve cleaned out our Ridge yard and hauled over a million pounds of material to Capitol Toyota for job site fill.

Some notable changes: New VP of Operations, Jill Day has stepped into her role and is whipping everyone into shape, including new Operations Manager, Zack La Grave, who has been with Advantage Precast for a year now, and is leading his team into the summer construction season.  Jill will be in charge of safety, QA and overall compliance.

We’ve been pretty busy this last year–we built a breathtaking block wall for a customer who lives out on the Oregon Coast with our Stone Strong retaining wall product (see pictures on web site home page), with additional walls coming soon to the new Capitol Toyota lot on Salem Parkway in Salem, Oregon, and Meduri Farms in Dallas, Oregon (see catalog for more info).

We’ve also been working on a project out on Shipman Lane in Salem that will feature an Arch Retaining Wall and Wine Cellar. We will have a video soon and tours this coming spring!

We’ve been developing new H pile privacy wall for residential and commercial use. We’ve built a new rubber molding shop, wood shop and other improvements with more planned as we go toward warmer weather.

In our spare time, we’ve been participating in community and charity events.  We donated planters and irrigation pipe to the Marion-Polk Food Share Program to help build a sustainable community garden.  We participated in events with the Keizer Art Association, Keizer Chamber Foundation and Liberty House in which we donated items for their auction to raise funds. We regularly contribute and actively participate in local and industry specific organizations such as Rotary, Habitat for Humanity, Food bank, Home Builders Association (HBA), American Public Works Association (APWA) and Nation Utility Contractors Association (NUCA).
